Re: Post your Hosannas reviews here
Fri, March 3, 2006 - 2:20 AMI love it, I was hoping for 1 song like: You'll Never Get To Me, whic was oen of my favorites off the last one.
Lightbringer reminds me of Asteroid.
I can not put my name on it but Invocation sounds familiar.
I think the 2nd self titled album is better in some respects.
Im not much of a writer but awsome album all around.

Monstrous!!!!!!!!
Fri, March 24, 2006 - 12:29 AMWell, the video for the single scared my kids so I'm convinced!
To start with I thought the same about the previous album being better but I've changed my mind and now rate this way above it. It's darker, more varied and the guitar parts are more interesting typically Judas Goat - only Geordie would ever come up with a guitar solo like that (although he'd probably wince at the term "solo" - sorry Geordie). I've read a lot of stuff about the songs being too long. I would agree that Lightbringer is perhaps 3 minutes over the top but nonetheless it has an almost hypnotic effect which may not have worked as well had it been shorter.
Another long song is Walking With Gods. I thought this was so good that I was surprised to find out on looking on the notes just how long it is. Doesn't seem like it to me. I keep playing this one in the car up and down the M11 roadworks near Stansted - it gives a release to my frustrations!
Come to think of it there aren't any duff tracks on it. I particularly like Gratitude and Invocation (this is like a twisted cousin of Kashmir by Led Zeppelin and not too dissimilar to some of the more gutsy Mission songs) especially the bit where Jaz rants on about "destroyer of worlds" just before the end - perfectly conducted Mr. C.

Sun, March 26, 2006 - 6:58 PMI'm looking very much forward to it, having only heard the title track and "Implosion", but it sounds like a return to the thunder of some of the earlier days.
April 3rd can't get here soon enough!!
